There are two main programs that we will be showing you. These programs are called dr.fone-Switch and FoneCopy. So, with that in mind, let’s jump right in.

- Method #4 – How to Transfer Contacts to iPhone X/XS/XR from Android with Gmail

Step #2 – Next, connect both your old mobile phone as well as your new iPhone X using the appropriate USB cable.
Step #3 – From the main menu of dr.fone, click on the “Switch” feature.
Step #4 – Both of your devices will now be shown. First, make sure that your iPhone X/XS/XR is set as the “Destination” device. If it isn’t, click on the “Flip” button at the top.
Step #5 – Using the menu in the middle of the screen, select the “Contacts” data type.
Note: if you want to have other data transferred to your iPhone X, simply select the data type from the menu.

Step #7 – After a few minutes, dr.fone-Switch will have successfully transferred all of your contact information over to your new iPhone X.
As you can see, there is nothing difficult about this method, and in just a few minutes, you will be able to find all of your contacts transferred onto your iPhone X in no time at all.
Main Features of dr.fone – Switch
Before we move onto showing you the other methods that you can use for learning how to transfer contacts to iPhone X, we are going to show you some of the main features that are included in dr.fone – Switch.
- Unlike iTunes, with dr.fone-Switch you are able to transfer data between iOS devices and Android devices without experiencing any compatibility issues. Moving from Android to iOS? This is an essential feature to keep in mind.
- Easily restore data to your device from backup files. This means that if you lost data due to an iOS update or from accidentally deleting it, you can selectively recover the data from a backup and have it restored onto your device in no time at all.
- Not everyone is happy using iTunes to take backups of their iPhone, and Android users don’t have a standardized program such as iTunes. With dr.fone-Switch, you are able to take backups as well as selectively backup your mobile phone’s data.
As you can see, there is no doubting that dr.fone-Switch is a program which you want to use for transferring data. But if dr.fone-Switch isn’t for you then perhaps FoneCopy is worth looking at.
In this next method, we will be showing you how to transfer contacts to iPhone X, but unlike the previous method, we are going to be using a different program. The program that we will be using is FoneCopy, and by following the steps below, you can easily transfer all of your contact information from your old iPhone over to your new iPhone X.
Step #1 – First, download and install the FoneCopy program on your computer. Launch it to begin.
Step #2 – Once the program has launched, connect your old mobile phone as well as your new iPhone X using lightning cables.
Step #3 – From the menu which is shown, make sure that your old iPhone is set as the “Source Device”, and your iPhone X is the “Target Device”. You can either use the drop-down menus or the “Switch” button at the top to change the devices appropriately.
Step #4 – Using the data types that are shown, check the “Contacts” data type box. Click on “Start to Copy” to continue.
Step #5 – FoneCopy will now begin the transfer process. How long this process takes depends on your computer and how many contacts you are transferring although, after a few minutes, you will find all of your contacts on your iPhone X.
This method is similar to using dr.fone-Switch, and likewise, this isn’t a difficult method to follow. In just a few minutes, you are able to learn how to transfer contacts to iPhone X and can access all of your contact information easily.
Main Features of FoneCopy
Just as we did with dr.fone-Switch before we continue to the next methods we are going to show you some of the main features that you get access to when you use FoneCopy.
- Are you worried about losing your personal data after your mobile phone has been damaged? Don’t worry about it! With FoneCopy, you can easily recover data from any mobile phone regardless of whether the device is broken or if it won’t turn on.
- An important part of selling your old mobile phone is making sure that your data has been scrubbed off of it. Fortunately, with the help of FoneCopy, you are able to completely remove all of your personal data from your device so that it can’t be recovered regardless of which data recovery method is used. This is more efficient and secure than a simple factory reset.
- No longer do you have to worry about the compatibility issues of transferring data between Android and iOS. With FoneCopy, you can selectively transfer data between Android and iOS devices with minimal issues, if any, and can do so in just a few minutes. This is ideal for anyone who is switching platforms.
Again, this is without a doubt one of the best programs for the job. However, if you aren’t interested in using either dr.fone-Switch or FoneCopy then don’t worry, there are other options available.
Other Ways to Transfer Contacts to iPhone X
Aside from using dr.fone-Switch and FoneCopy, you can also use iCloud as well as your Gmail account to find out how to transfer contacts to iPhone X. The only reason that we don’t recommend these methods is that you risk data loss and they take a lot longer.
On top of that, neither of these services offer nearly as many features as dr.fone-Switch or FoneCopy do.
For this third method, we are going to be using iCloud and will be showing you how to transfer contacts to iPhone X with the iCloud service. This method will require you to have both your old and new iPhones connected to a Wi-Fi network.
Step #1 – Start with your old iPhone. Unlock if it need be and launch the “Settings” application.
Step #2 – From here, tap on your Apple ID at the top of this menu and tap on the “iCloud” option.
Step #3 – Next, swipe to the bottom of this menu and tap on “iCloud Backup”.
Step #4 – If it isn’t already enabled then tap on the “iCloud Backup” slider to enable it. Following this, tap on “Backup Up Now” and allow your iPhone to upload a backup of your device.
Step #5 – This part of the process may take a long time as the backup is being uploaded through your internet. If you have slow internet, then the process will take longer.
Step #6 – After the backup has been taken, go over to your new iPhone and turn it on for the first time.
Step #7 – Follow the iOS setup steps until you reach the “Set up your iPhone” page. From this page, tap on “Restore from iCloud Backup”.
Step #8 – You will now be prompted to enter your Apple ID and password; go ahead and do so now.
Step #9 – You will now be shown all of the backups which are currently stored on your iCloud account. Tap on the most recent backup which you took moments ago.
Step #10 – The selected backup will now be downloaded onto your iPhone and restored after a few minutes. You will now be able to find your contacts on your iPhone X.
Using this method can take significantly longer than the others as it requires you to transfer your contact information over a Wi-Fi network. If you have slow broadband speeds, then it could take up to an hour, especially if you have hundreds of contacts.
Finally, we are going to be showing you how to use your Gmail account to transfer contacts from an Android device over to your iPhone X. This method is useful for anyone moving from Android to iOS as there is no current mainstream method for transferring data between the two platforms.
Step #1 – First, take your old iPhone, launch the “Settings” application, and tap on “Accounts & Passwords“.
Step #2 – If you don’t already have your Gmail account linked to your iPhone then tap on “Add Account” and sign in to your Gmail account now.
Step #3 – After your account has been signed in, enable the “Contacts” sync option.
Step #4 – Once you have set up your new iPhone X, simply head over to the “Accounts & Passwords” menu and enter your Gmail information once again.
Step #5 – As with before, enable the “Contacts” sync option and tap on “Save“.
Step #6 – All of the contacts which are stored on your old iPhone will now begin to sync with your new iPhone, and vice versa.
In the past, moving data between iOS and Android devices was difficult and incredibly frustrating, but with the methods that we have shown you in this article, it’s as simple a task as ever. Whichever method you choose to use, you will have your contacts transferred in no time at all.
All in all, while we highly recommend that you use either dr.fone – Switch or FoneCopy, you can use either iCloud or Gmail to learn how to transfer contacts to iPhone X. As you are able to see from this article, dr.fone – Switch and FoneCopy are both fantastic programs and go much further than simply transferring data between devices. Even though our focus was to show you how to transfer contacts to your new iPhone XS/XR/X, both of these programs can offer more features.
